Mikill Pane | This Gent
Meet our first This Gent, Mr Mikill Pane.
We’ve been following Mikill’s (pronounced ‘mike-ill’) career for a long time now, a career that gets more exciting everyday and we were honoured that on his first day off from his busy tour with friend Ed Sheeran we got to shoot him. We first met Mikill Pane at the start of his music career several years ago and enjoyed going to his gigs around East London where we were refreshed by his audience engagement and confidence. Since then we’ve heard him on ‘Little Lady’, a track which featured on Ed Sheeran’s No.5 Collaborations EP, Radio 1′s Huw Stephens give him the airtime he is due and he recently appeared on Channel 4′s ‘Random Acts’, but this is just the start of it. Over the years of being on the music scene Mikill has gathered up a huge fanbase who get to enjoy his quick wit on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram on an hourly basis and each and everyone of these fans will be just as pleased as us to see him making it.
Not only are we fans of Mikill’s poetic music, it’s his style that first grabbed our attention back in the day with coloured socks pulled half way up his tattooed legs and this is exactly why we were willing to wait for him to have a day off so he could become our very first This Gent. With over 600 pairs of trainers in his collection which span across 2 houses, a pair of specs for every day of the week and endless threads from all of our favourite brands we couldn’t wait to see what he had styled together for us, he didn’t let us down. As he unpacked his suitcase we were very excited to see Carhartt-WIP shorts and jackets, Evisu and Edwin denim, accessories from Canterbury of New Zealand, Rayban and Obey Propaganda, not to mention some brand new creps from Nike, Air Jordan and Shore Leave. It seems it’s not only us that admire his impeccable outfit matching, brands like Dope Chef have recently collaborated with him to develop a range of graphic tees and sweats.
We suggest you follow @mikillpane on Twitter for some refreshing near the mark wit and Instagram for pics of his shoe of the day and general doings. And go pre-order his latest EP ‘The Morris Dancer‘ on iTunes soon to be released, he’s one of a kind and you won’t regret it.
We’re proud to showcase our first This Gent, here is Mikill Pane.
